To make sure that the right copper pipes are fit to a subassembly of this product, this 3D measuring system first finds a backplate in a 3D pointcloud before separating the copper pipes.
Once the system has separated the pipes it can measure them in 3D space. Since this subassembly contains a lot of reflective metallic parts, we have to filter a lot of reflections and noise from
the 3D pointcloud.
The system has a very easy interface to teach new assemblies.
All the user has to do is telling which backplate is used in the assembly and where the pipes are approximately located relative to this backplate. The user also has to define what the desired pipediameter is.
If the system measures a different diameter it is rejected.
